The Fastenal Company would like to invite ambitious, hard-working individuals to apply for the position of full-time, Lead Developer - API Management Position Summary This position will be responsible for the design, build, and publication of APIs to connect a community of developers across different application disciplines. You will work closely with the Architecture, Infrastructure, and Development teams internal to Fastenal to build a platform for web services across application domains both for internal and external consumption. Responsibilities - Design and develop web service APIrsquos and core functionality to allow in-house and third-party developers to more easily integrate applications with Fastenal. - Develop high-quality, ship-ready code with unit tests. - Work with other developers to understand and translate business requirements into design requirements and provide estimates for development. - You must want to be involved with the design, not just code to a spec. - Work as part of a cross-site development team to drive design, implementation, testing and release of products Qualifications - Bachelorrsquos or Masterrsquos in Computer Science or related degree. - 5+ years of development experience in web-related technologies such as web services, REST, SOAP, WCF, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, and XML. - Must have a strong development background ndash (Java .NET) - Experience defining and developing web service APIrsquos. - Experience in integrating with web-based products. - Experience with Oracle, Tomcat, XSD, CXF, JDBC. - Experiences with the entire software development lifecycle, including version control, build process, testing, and code release. - Working experience with an industry standard API Gateway technology such as Layer 7, Intel Mashery, or Apigee. - Experience with Agile and Test-driven development methodologies. - Experience with LDAP is a plus.
